Laura Taylor - 12 points and 14 reboiunds for Ballarat Rush in Big V

Ballarat came up empty handed in Big V basketball at the weekend.

The Miners' development squad lost to Warrandyte Venom in youth league one, while Rush lowered its colours to Diamond Valley Eagles in the women's youth championship.

This leaves Rush with just the one win after five games and in fifth position in the Watson conference.

Rush paid the heavy price for give up possession in losing 80-51.

Dimaond Valley scored 30 points from turnovers, while Ballarat could manage only five.

The Eagles were also much more accurate, shooting at 45 per cent from two-point range.

Maggie Tranter was Rush's most potent player offensively, shooting 30 points.

There was little between the Miners and Warrandyte in the 99-87 scoreline.

Venom just managed to find enough, especially when it worked its way into the paint.

Amos Brooks was influential for the Miners with 22 points, nine rebounds and three steals. Liam Allison and Jamie Constable each had a double double – Allison 19 points and 12 rebounds, Constable 15 and 11.
