Ballarat Woolies stores shut down in national outage

A NATIONWIDE IT malfunction has left Woolworths customers out in the cold.

It is understood half the stores across the country were shut down after the malfunction took out registers across the country at about 4pm this afternoon.

Ballarat stores were affected with stores including Howitt St, Delacombe and Ballarat Central all experiencing the outage.

Customers The Courier spoke to out the front of the Howitt St store said the outage was “embarrassing” for the supermarket giant.

The network has started to come back online.
