Following a skills day involving 900 participants at nine regional centres including Ballarat, thirty-five Ballarat basketball players were among the players selected to take part in the training and development program.
BVC participation coordinator Craig Hockley said each year the standard improved across the board, which was a credit to the country associations.
The players will attend the sessions at their home association under the direction of a regional academy network coach and attend two compulsory weekend live-in camps as part of the 20-week program.
There will be a focus on advanced individual and team skills in preparation for representative state duties.
