Throughout the year riders compete against fellow riders in their state for a chance to qualify for the competition, now with the hope of gaining a ticket to the internationals in Spain.
Soloman, 7, and Maddox, 10, have only been riding for a year and are pumped to compete in such an event. While Tipene, 15, has quite a few years under his belt.
The trio have worked extremely hard to get to this level and have put plenty of hours in after school and on weekends at the Norman Street skate park, honing their skills. The boys are excited to show-off their talents and help grow the sport.
Points in scooting are awarded to athletes depending on the degree of difficulty of their tricks, athletes receiving a 45-second “run” around the course to showcase their skills.
Soloman and Tipene are sponsored by Havoc while Maddox is sponsored by Skin Ski and Surf Ballarat.
