The Ararat Train line will soon be shuttered for more than a week, as major upgrades across the Ballarat line continue.

Coaches will replace trains between Southern Cross Station and Ballarat, then Wendouree and Ararat from April 28 to May 1. Maryborough trains will connect with coaches at Ballarat Station.
Ballarat trains will return for the first service on Wednesday May 2, while coaches will continue to replace Ararat trains until Tuesday May 8.
The closures are to install safety fencing and complete earthworks for track duplication from Caroline Springs to Melton, and works on the Toolern Creek rail bridge.
Works along the Ararat line include upgrading the Mt Emu Creek rail bridge at Trawalla, as well as re-railing at Beaufort.
V/Line has advised passengers to allow an extra 45 minutes for their journey.
