The road is scheduled to open at 3.30pm on April 23, after an opening ceremony with Victorian regional development minister Jaala Pulford and City of Ballarat councillors.
The road was conceived by City of Ballarat to reduce truck traffic through Ballarat’s CBD and connect up growth areas like Lucas and Bonshaw Creek.
It’s already been a $38 million project, but the city is lobbying state and federal governments for another $80 million to continue to road all the way to the Glenelg Highway.
