While conditions will be much better than last year when rain dampened commemorations, Ballarat is still expected to drop to around six degrees at 6am tomorrow morning with a chance of some light rain.
But Bureau of Meteorology duty forecaster Stuart Coombs said there is good news for marchers later in the morning with conditions expected to improve as the day goes on.
“There will be some cloud cover and there is a chance of some drizzle in the early morning,” he said.
“We expect the temperature to get down to about six degrees, so be prepared that it could be quite cold.
“Things will improve during the day and as the day goes on we’ll see some sunshine and a top temperature of about 19 degrees.
“East Gippsland could see some rain throughout the day, but the areas around the city, Geelong and Ballarat will be at the other end of the front and should see improving conditions.”
