The inclusion of Tarnee Adams replaces premiership goal-shooter Chloe Curran and will team-up will Ruth Smith.
In their season opener against Redan, the Lions won by a goal and the goalers stood up in some key moments late in the game.
Adams shot 27 goals from 50 attempts, a conversion rate coach Adam Boldiston knows we lift, saying his new goaler was a touch nervous in her debut game, while Smith produced 13 from 18.
Boldiston was pleased with how his new combination came together and said improvement would come as they learnt each other’s styles.
“It was their first outing together.” Boldiston told The Courier.
“We’ll definitely continue to improve throughout the season as the girls get to know each other.
“It will be a work in progress.
“It’s a matter of getting used to each other and figuring out the timing and the placement of the passes.
“In patches they were fantastic, you could see some really slick ball movement. But as you’re learning new combinations with people, you’re often a little bit hesitant to let the ball go to someone.
“As they get used to each other, they’ll get more confident in just letting the ball go and get better timing – but the signs were there.”
