“Art should be in everyone’s life whether they make it or enjoy it … and I thought it would be better to have some of the paintings I had stored from earlier exhibitions to be somewhere where people can enjoy them rather than having them stuck in a studio,” Ms Clarke said.
Ten artworks inspired by childhood nostalgia now have pride of place on Pinarc’s walls, and the paintings at the disability service’s Bonshaw centre are inspiring participants in the Turtle Art group to work on their own creativity.
Pinarc chief executive Marianne Hubbard said it was exciting to have Ms Clarke’s artwork on the walls and for her to run a workshop with the Turtle Arts group.
“The purpose of our program is to introduce art across a range of mediums and give them an opportunity to exhibit. Artists need to show and share their work and this is one way for our artists to communicate their experience of the world.”
