Vikings claimed the premiership 3-1 last year and have continued in the same vein this season.
They sit on top of the ladder as the only unbeaten team after three rounds – three points clear of Forest Rangers, Warrnambool and Vic Park.
United is having to do it much harder.
It has conceded five goals in each of its two games, with its only points coming from a bye.
United has shown it can be dangerous in attack by putting six into the back of the net, but it needs to tighten up defensively or the likes of Brandon Bosher and Michael Busija – the Vikings’ leading scorers – will have the potential to punish the black and white outfit.
The all-Rangers clash between Warrnambool and Forest has the potential to be the match of the round as they battle for second position.
Sunday’s round 4 fixtures:
North United v Vikings at Morshead Park stadium, 3pm
Buninyong v Ballarat at Morshead Park No.4
Warrnambool v Forest Rangers
VIKINGS have withdrawn from the BDSA women’s division one competition.
The reigning premier’s decision leaves six teams going into round four. and means North United picks up maximum points with a forfeit.
Adjusted ladder: Warrnambool Rangers 9, Ballarat Eureka Strikers 9, Ballarat North United 6, Ballarat 3, Forest Rangers 3, Bacchus Marsh 0
