VCAL students from Loreto and St Patrick’s Colleges decorated plates for each eatery and producer involved, in addition to decorating the crockery that will be used in the Art on a Plate event at the Art Gallery of Ballarat.
Plate Up Ballarat director Kate Davis established the event to connect, collaborate and celebrate Ballarat’s food and producers.
“I’m proud to announce that we have connected venues, suppliers, the community and businesses and working with the students and teachers from Loreto and St Patrick’s College the result is more than I dreamed of but exactly what I hoped for,” she said.
Art Gallery of Ballarat Foundation chairman Mark Guirguis said the concept of Plate Up Ballarat as a community-wide event was exciting.
“It shows that when we combine all of our passions together in one event it can have a positive result on the city as a whole,” he said.
