The Rebels have rotated its players throughout the season to expose as much of its list as possible to TAC Cup football. But for the last game of the year, against Oakleigh Chargers, it is hoping a star-studded line-up can make it four on the trot.
Earlier in the week seven Rebels were named in the Vic Country under-18 squad, six of these players have been named for this weekend’s hit-out.
Given percentage, even if the Rebels win it looks likely they will remain in fifth position on the ladder. But coach Rhys Cahir said the development he had witnessed since joining the program in November had been “unbelievable”.
“We’ve developed and we’re playing well together,” Cahir said.
“It’s been unbelievable really. They’ve come on in leaps and bounds.
“If we were starting the season two weeks ago, we could be anything.
“We aimed to win three of our last four and we’ve won our last three, so we’ve done that – we’re going for four out of four to finish the year strongly.”
