Across the month 85.4 per cent of trains arrived within six minutes of their scheduled time, a notable increase on the 76.9 figure recorded in March.
Reliability also jumped in V/Line’s most recent report, with 97.6 per cent of scheduled services operating.
V/Line chief executive James Pinder said “this is the highest punctuality result on the Ballarat line in the past five months and we will be working hard to ensure it continues to improve”.
Despite the improvement, punctuality still remains well short of the 92 per cent target, a figure which hasn’t been reached since October 2016.
