Dunstan said from the moment after committing to join North that he heard that the BFL was playing Goulburn Valley at the MCG, he was determined to do everything he could he would be there.
As soon as I found out I pretty keen to get a gig.
He rallied the support of City coach Shane Skontra a former BFL representative team coach and mosty importantly hit form straight away to attract the attention of coach Shaun OLoughlin.
Adding to the thrill for the 20-year-old in what promises to be a special day is that the game is against GVFL, where he played with Shepparton Bears last season.
You could say Ive got a bit invested in the game, playing for the BFL and knowing GVFL players.
Dunstan has a high regard for the GVFL especially the depth of teams at club level.
He expects it to be particularly strong through the midfield.
Originally from Donald, he is not completely new to Ballarat this year.
He played with the North Ballarat Rebels while attending Ballarat Clarendon College before going on to represent Vic Country under-19s.
Dunstan tried out for Richmonds VFL list leading up to the 2017 season, but osteitis pubis put an end to that.
He was sidelined for 16 weeks before making a late decision to move to the GVFL to play with some mates.
He is now playing with his brother Nathan at North Ballarat City and has kicked 16 goals in four games to be second on the BFL goalkicking list behind teammate Will Young.
As effective as he has been up forward this season, Dunstan has spend time in defence in his career and it would be no suprise seeing hime spend some time down back on Saturday.
