This is the motto of Ballan not-for-profit autism support organisation Keeley’s Cause and a philosophy reflected at the Ballarat Autism Expo.
The event held at the Mercure Convention Centre on Saturday featured a wide range of exhibitors and displays with information about programs, services and resources available for people on the autism spectrum.
Sharon Murphy from Keeley’s Cause said it was important parents of autistic children were aware of support services available, and to know they were not alone in their parenting journey.
“To create an expo like this that provides information all in one spot is amazing. A lot of people don’t know where to start or where to look.
“The amount of people there was phenomenal. Obviously there is a need for this information and support.”
Keeley’s Cause raises funds for children diagnosed with autism or an intellectural disability to receive iPads for full time learning in schools. Other exhibitors included sensory resources and natural therapies.
