However, two Ballarat people were caught doing exactly that on Sunday morning.
Police had initially caught a 28-year-old Delacombe man driving with an illicit drug in his system in Rowsley, near Bacchus Marsh.
After being caught by Moorabool Highway Patrol members, the Delacombe man arranged for his car to be picked up.
A 24-year-old Ballarat East woman who came to collect his vehicle was also tested by police and like the man, was also found to be under the influence of drugs.
Both drivers will be summonsed to court at a later date and will lose their licences for a minimum of six months.
