The driver was not injured with the road closed for more than five hours, as emergency services assessed the scene before re-opening the section near the main roundabout about 1.30pm.
Sergeant Simon Grant said investigations were continuing.
“The driver has been interviewed in relation to vehicle roadworthiness, log book and driving offences,” he said. “We will prepare a brief of evidence and he will receive a summons to attend court in Ararat at a later date.
“Charges are arising from his lack of logbook, he did not have a work diary in his possession which is required for trucks over 12 tonnes.
“There will also be another charge relating to the driving using an unsafe vehicle.
“Investigators are still looking into how the incident occurred but it is believed the trailer mounted the curb which caused the roll-over.”
