It comes after Ballarat went down to Goulburn Valley by 22 points at the MCG on Saturday afternoon.
Although the loss meant a drop in the rankings, the BFL still sits within the top 10 in ninth position.
Its 2019 opponents South East round out the top 10.
It is important to note the 2019 rankings list does not provide a locked in schedule of matches for next season, with leagues given the opportunity to opt-in or withdraw from the competition.
Meanwhile, Central Highlands Football League has slipped to 25th position in the rankings after a third-straight loss by less than a goal on Saturday.
The Highlanders suffered a three-point loss at the hands of Riddell District in the senior clash at Buninyong.
Next year’s game is likely to be a rematch between the CHFL and the 26th placed Ellinbank and District.
The Highlanders defeated Ellinbank and District in 2012 in what was the team’s first year back in interleague.
But CHFL senior coach Clive Raak has been non-committal when asked about the possibility of a fourth season in charge.
Meanwhile, Maryborough and Castlemaine District Football Netball League has dropped to 27th on the rankings after going down to West Gippsland Football Netball Competition by 44 points on Saturday at Garfield.
The MCDFNL is likely to face Colac and District Football Netball League next year.
Eastern Football League has secured the number-one spot after defeating Geelong.
