A telehandler operated by Coates Hire tipped and crushed two cars while working on a wind farm near Ararat on August 25, 2016.
On Tuesday, Coates Hire pleaded guilty in the Ballarat Magistrates Court to one charge under section 21 of the Occupational Health and Safety Act 2004 in that it failed as an employer, so far as was reasonably practicable, to provide and maintain for employees a working environment that was safe and without risks to health by failing to provide necessary training.
On top of the fine, the company was required to pay costs of $3479.
