Tornado Valley has made a huge impression since arriving in Andy Gath’s stable from New Zealand.
The six-year-old has won seven of 10 starts, including the group 1 Australian Trotting Grand Prix in March and five group 3 events.
He goes to Ballarat after a fourth in the Australasian Trotting Championship, which ended a sequence of seven victories.
Tornado Valley will start off the inside of the second row, immediately on the inside of Australasian Trotting Championship winner Fabrication, which will offer driver Kate Gath an early challenge to angle off the pegs.
Glenferrie Burn and Belts lead Ballarat’s hopes.
The Anton Golino-trained Glenferrie Burn is attempting to land her second consecutive group 3 success after taking out the La Coocaracha at Menangle on May 5.

In his latest start the Emma Stewart-trained colt saluted in the Withers 3yo Classic at Kilmore.
Duplicated is the x-factor from the Lara stable of Dean Braun, having scored first-up from NZ at Bendigo on May 18.
