Springbank player-coach Cynna Kydd is not happy with the A-grade team’s performance, with Saturday’s seventh straight victory in Central Highlands Netball League not up to scratch.

While the top three Tigers may have defeated Beaufort by 20 goals, 55-35, they were challenged in the first half.
“It was a close first half, we were just not in the zone from the start and by halfway we decided to put the foot on it and actually seemed to play netball,” she said.
“It was just an ugly win for us, I feel like we still have a lot to work on for the season.”
Beaufort only has the one victory for the season and sits in 16th-position on the A-grade ladder.
Some of the areas the Tigers will focus on when they hit the courts for training this week will be shooting accuracy and tighter defence.
But Kydd was pleased with the second-half effort and thought the group was in a good position, being undefeated but with room for improvement.
“Next week against Learmonth will be the real judge for us and we’re lucky we can play them middle of the season to get a gauge on how we are travelling,” she said.
“It’s always a tough game so we still have a long way to improve.”
Kydd said while a scrappy win was not ideal, it was a bonus the team would take.
“It’s always nice to have wins on the board, but I feel like we are not quite up to finals level yet,” she said.
Meanwhile, goaler Casey Johnstone has successfully returned from an achilles injury, which she sustained at the end of last year.
“She showed a promising last quarter, which was good to see her coming back and can play at the A-grade level,” the Springbank coach said.
In other games across the league, Learmonth enjoyed an extraordinary victory over Smythesdale in a top versus bottom-of-the-table clash.
The percentage-boosting 106-goal win over the Bulldogs is the biggest winning margin this season, with the final score 8-114.
Learmonth has a percentage of 395, the next best is Bungaree with 182 per cent.
Bungaree defeated seventh-placed Creswick, 60-44, to secure second spot.
