Ballarat coach Shane Hutchinson is hopeful that the Swans can give North Melbourne 300-game great Drew Petrie a winning experience in a one-off appearance in the Ballarat Football League on Saturday.

Petrie will be given a familiar role in attack – he has been named in a forward pocket – in a guest appearance for the club where he played his junior football before embarking on an AFL career.
Hutchinson said he expected Petrie to predominantly play forward, where he made a name for himself at the Kangaroos.
“He might have a run in the ruck. We’ll see.”
Hutchinson, who played alongside Petrie at the North Ballarat Rebels in the TAC Cup under-18 competition for two years, said there was a real buzz around the club about having Petrie lining up.
“The boys are excited about the opportunity.”
Now living in Perth after ending his AFL playing days with West Coast Eagles last year, Petrie, 35, will go into the game against Redan at Alfredton without a training run with Ballarat.
He will have to wait until Saturday’s pre-match get together before meeting most of his teammates for the day.
Hutchinson is not concerned.
He said the player group had discussed how Petrie would be utilised on the day.
“He’s easy going. He’ll fit in.”
Ballarat has had just the one win in six games and sits 10th, just one place ahead of a winless Redan.
Hutchinson is hoping the presence of Petrie might stimulate an improved performance by the Swans – especially in attack, where they have been falling down.
“It hasn’t been great. Hopefully we can turn it around,’’ he said.
Petrie played 316 games with North Melbourne from 2001 to 2016 and another 16 with West Coast Eagles last season.
He kicked 444 goals.
Ballarat has regained number one ruckman Marcus Powling after missing one week with injury, as well as naming Lucas Hodgetts and Taylor Sutton for their senior debuts.
