A man in his 20s has smashed into a tree near Clunes this morning.

Emergency services were called to the scene about 7.20am, with reports of the driver being trapped in the car.
His Mitsubishi had left the straight stretch of road on Ballarat-Maryborough Road, about two kilometres south of Clunes.
However, once emergency services arrived on scene, it was determined the man was not actually trapped.
His car suffered significant damage to the front/passenger side.
He was treated on the scene by CFA workers for about 20 minutes until paramedics arrived.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said paramedics were treating a man in his 20s at the scene.
It is not believed he sustained serious injuries.
