The Eagles secured the 22-point victory after winning every quarter but the final term.
But positives to come out of the game for Ballarat Skoda Rush included a fierce opening 10 minutes from Claire Constable, who scored the team’s first 12 points.
Young-gun Georgia Amoore was a strong contributor to be deemed Rush’s best, while Lydia Brooks also stepped up at times.
Rush captain Kristy Rinaldi was restricted to just three points, but hobbled off in the first quarter after what looked like an ankle injury before returning to the court.
Meanwhile, Lauren Scherf starred for Diamond Valley with 32 points and 10 rebounds in just three quarters before finding foul trouble in the fourth term.
