Ballarat GMHBA Miners went down to Sandringham by 19 points in Melbourne on Saturday, then lost to Diamond Valley by three points at the Minerdome on Sunday to drop to third on the South East Australian Basketball League ladder.
Both opposition teams sit in the bottom four.
Nathan Cooper-Brown believed the Miners’ lack of polish came from having the weekend off, which had the Miners coach reconsidering how they should treat the bye.
“We are very disappointed in the process of these two games, the outcome doesn’t matter,” he said.
“We are disappointed that we didn’t get better, we’re disappointed that we didn’t execute things we know we should, we got outworked in both games.”
From the first break of the game against the Eagles, Cooper-Brown was strong in his delivery to his players, reiterating messages and holding out for a response.
“When we put strategy into place, when we put scouting reports into place, we need everybody to follow those, execute what we are trying to do,” Cooper-Brown said.
“So I need to go back and look at those two things, are they too complicated? Are we not putting players in the right positions to succeed?”
