The Youth League Miners went down in a nail-biter to top four team Geelong at the Minerdome on Saturday night, 98-103.
Dunmore enjoyed a game-high 33 points, while Brooks made a double-double with 23 points and 18 rebounds.
The Youth League Miners were not able to bounce back on the road on Sunday at Broadmeadows Basketball Stadium, suffering a 10-point defeat at the hands of Hume City Broncos, 89-79.
Meanwhile, in Victorian Youth Championship Women competition, Ballarat Youth League Rush fell short by a single point to Altona Gators, 53-54, at the Minerdome on Saturday night.
Youth League Rush player Laura Taylor was best on court and the only player from either team to make a double-double, collecting 15 points and 17 rebounds.
The Gators have been impressive, sitting third on the ladder in Terrill conference.
