Selkirk Sovereigns are without victory after nine rounds as the young side continues to show positive signs within matches, but ultimately over four quarters it has come up short.
Coach Guy Keane’s message has remained true throughout the season, but undoubtedly this week’s clash with Peninsula Waves, which has lost its last three matches, is one it will be hopeful of staking a claim.
“We need to go into the game against Waves remembering what it felt like to be in front and take that feeling and work-rate out on-court. When there is a momentum swing we need to learn from our errors quickly and get back to our structures,” Keane said.
“We continue to let ourselves down by lapsing in work rate and concentration for short periods of time in quarters which result in teams scoring a run of goals on us - which ultimately plays a massive role in the outcome of the match.”
Division one faces a crucial clash with Waves, which it is a game clear of on the ladder, in order to stay in the top four.
In the 19/unders, while it may be a top four side versus a bottom two side, Sovereigns will go in full of confidence after back-to-back wins.
