Selkirk Sovereigns continue to battle with lapses within matches that are proving extremely costly.
On Wednesday night the young side conceded the opening seven goals of the match to immediately be on the back foot, while it lost the third quarter by 11 goals eventually going down 62-34.
Coach Guy Keane said this issue was an ongoing development area.
There is no shying away from the fact Sovereigns are very young, but it has now slumped to an 0-10 start to the year and has lost 14 consecutive matches at championship level.
Keane said the club was working diligently at training to correct the flaw.
“It was a very similar story to previous weeks,” Keane said.
“Hopefully the message is sinking in, that we are competitive with a lot of the teams that are in the competition, we just have two or three-minute moments of a loss of work rate or concentration and we don’t have the experience to be able to pull ourselves out of that lapse.
“A big part of it is that they have to recognise that that has happened...four or five goals can happen really quickly.”
Keane said the positive of the night was the improvement upon its round two meeting where Waves delivered a resounding 71-25 victory.
Meanwhile, division one enjoyed a 63-47 win over Waves – a crucial four points in the context of its season.
Sovereigns remain in fourth spot but has opened up an eight-point buffer on fifth, with three sides – one of which being Waves – being two games behind.
19/unders lost 70-46.
