Griffin has role of distance running coach – looking after athletes contesting 800m to 10,000m.
Griffin said this was 14th time he had coached a national team either on the track or cross country.
He left Australia earlier this week for a warm-up meet in Germany and will then travel to a Finnish training base at Pajulahti.
