It came after remaining undefeated in the home and away season and a tough finals run held in Hepburn.
Coach Natalie Clark said the familiarity and friendship of the girls, who had played together for a couple of years, was an advantage.
“We do a roster during the year where they have to play every position, so they don’t get locked in one position,” Clark said. “They’re all just so confident in each position, and their own abilities and each other’s, that it doesn’t matter where you put them.”
Clark said when it came down to deciding the grand final team, the older players who were not coming back next year were selected.
She said the premiership was reward for effort and signalled an exciting future.
“They just click as a team and know how to play with each other,” Clark said.
