The film shared the story of two Hazara refugees who inspired a refugee education revolution by starting a school in their small Indonesian refugee community.
Film-goers in Ballarat were treated to a question and answer session with film creators Jolyon Roff and Muzafar Ali, who travelled to towns across Australia for Refugee Week screenings.
Film star Muzafar Ali said the documentary had the ability to connect refugees and Australians on a ‘human level’.
“It shows friendship, that refugees are resourceful, and that they can be part of a solution, not part of a problem,” he said.
“They are capable and can offer all sorts of components needed in a community.”
