RMH Sebastopol Pty Ltd, trading as The Royal Mail, has Tanya Melanie Farrell listed as director and secretary of the company. RMH Sebastopol Pty Ltd is the licensee of the closed hotel and the subject of a wind-up notice issued by the Australian Securities and Investment Commission (ASIC) on June 7, 2018. The applicant for the wind-up is the Deputy Commissioner for Taxation.
The previous company listed as the licensee for the pub, Royal Mail Hotel (Ballarat) Pty Ltd, was placed into liquidation owing the Australian Taxation Office $256,000, and another $132,112 to ‘unsecured creditors’. Ms Farrell's partner, John Damien Burns, is director and secretary of that company.
Ms Farrell is listed as the director and secretary of Opulance Pty Ltd, which is the licensee of the Opulance ‘Live Music Venue’ at 203 Dana Street, the home of the Ballaarat Club.
The licence issued for Opulance is a restaurant and cafe licence which stipulates: the predominant activity carried out at all times on the licensed premises must be the preparation and serving of meals for consumption on the licensed premises.
The shareholders in Opulance Pty Ltd are RMH Ballarat Pty Ltd and Pale Moon Pty Ltd, each holding 33 shares, and Jin & Jing Pty Ltd, with 34 shares. Ms Farrell is the director and secretary of RMH Ballarat.
The Courier has placed calls to Ms Farrell requesting an interview over the closure of the Royal Mail. Ms Farrell has not returned our calls.
