The women in her 60s sustained leg injuries and soreness in the accident and was taken to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition after the crash which occurred about 11.45am Sunday.
A teenage boy in the second vehicle was also taken to Ballarat Base to be treated for a head injury. Three other people received minor injuries but did not require further medical attention.
Police reopened Gillies road about 12.45pm.
12 NOON: Gillies Road is closed in both directions near Jubilee Road at Bald Hills after a two car accident left a women trapped.
The accident occurred in rainy conditions about 11.45am.
The female driver is believed to be aged in her 60s and was pinned in to her seat by the steering wheel from the impact of the crash.
The accident occurred just north of a notorious stretch of Gillies Road which has seen seven injury-causing accidents over five years.
