Saints first four innings brewed six, four, six and four runs – while the Mounties could manage just one run in its first innings.
The Saints’ stunning display gave catcher Chris Rickard the perfect celebration for his 500th A grade game and 600th overall match for the club.
As the Mounties’ depth continues to be tested, Scott Jones (two hits and an RBI) and Jedd Miller (two hits) were solid with the bat for Mounties, which managed just six runners on base.
Meanwhile in the B grade competition, Alfredton Eagles defeated Deakin 7-0 on enemy territory.
The Eagles were well led by some great pitching from Dan Hamilton.
Alfredton remains second on the ladder, it and Sunshine remaining well clear.
