Do the dance: The Wiggles rock Minerdome for three sold out Wiggly Ballarat parties

This was one Wiggly big day in Ballarat. Children’s rock band The Wiggles played three sold out shows at the Mars Minerdome on Wednesday with fans queuing for up to two hours in the cold before the first session.

Yellow Wiggle Emma was by far the crowd favourite with a sea of yellow-and-black dressed fans that Richmond football supporters would have thought was pretty “hot potato".

Ballarat’s Jennifer Cougle said her daughter Maddison just “lives and breathes” Emma.

Young fans also dressed as old favourites, like Dorothy the Dinosaur.  Henry the Octopus was the first of The Wiggles’ friends to appear on stage to a rock star-like screaming welcome.

Youngsters were pretty impressed with his well-tested dance moves, a twirl with legs flying in the air. The original Captain Feathersword took to the stage, as did Wags the Dog.

The Wiggles are playing 52 shows in 17 days on their Wiggle Wiggle Wiggle tour with crowds capped at 800 Wigglers for each Ballarat session.
