Ryan Bail was first to find the back of the net just two minutes into the game for the upper hand, while Clinton Demartin scored his first goal not long after for a healthy 2-0 lead at half-time.
Buninyong stepped up its defensive effort in the second half, before Demartin managed a second goal late.
Sebastopol Vikings defeated Victoria Park, 4-1, and Ballarat North United defeated Forest Rangers, 3-2.
Meanwhile, Ballarat Eureka Strikers and Ballarat, which are sitting second and third on the division one women’s ladder, had a close battle at Morshead Park, with neither team managing to score in the first half.
Chloe Stevens scored the match-winner for the Ballarat Eureka Strikers at the 68-minute mark of the game for a 1-0 victory.
Ballarat North United defeated Forest Rangers, 2-0.
