The Burrumbeet trainer-driver spoke to The Courier on Monday and recalled the moment that the horse suffered the injury that is likely to keep him away from racing for the next year.
Stanley, who was in the sulky on Saturday night, said Soho Tribeca stumbled at about the 400m mark in a messy race.
He said the injury became apparent when the horse cooled down after the race.
“Everyone’s pretty flat and down about it, but the good thing is that the horse is going to be okay and there’s still a chance he can make it back to racing,” Stanley said.

“At the end of the day, he's 100 per cent going to be sound for his stud career.”
Although a bad injury, Stanley said the fracture was regarded as a good one given there were much more serious consequences for breaks in the leg of a horse.
Stanley said the horse would spend at least the next month in Queensland before being brought back to his stables to continue the rehabilitation.
