St Pat’s will take on Aquinas on Wednesday at RAMS Arena and if it is successful, an MCG berth awaits.
St Patrick’s College senior football coach Howard Clark said Aquinas College presented an unknown quantity, but he felt if the group plays to the structures that have served the school so well for so long, it will give itself the best chance of victory.
“We know very little about their side,” Clark said.
“They’ve got a sprinkling of TAC Cup players, but the advantage for us is the continuity our boys have – whether it’s through TAC footy or community footy.
“If the boys play to the structures that have been consistent over a number of years, it’s proven quite successful.
“If they adhere to our philosophy and the set-up that we normally play, hopefully that will be enough to get us over the line.”
Clark said it would mean a lot to continue its long-standing success.
“It would be quite an amazing achievement, it underlines the strength of the program. The longevity is something that we, as a school, are very proud of.”
St Pat’s defeated Ballarat Clarendon College by 76 points in the Ballarat Associated Schools grand final in June.
