With Kilsyth going down in a huge upset, the result means the Miners will now face Nunawading – which took out SEABL’s top spot – in their first final.
The Miners have already defeated the Spectres twice this season.
Captain Peter Hooley top scored with 23 points, while Marvin King-Davis (14 points, 12 rebounds), Josh Fox (18 points, 13 rebounds) and Nic Pozoglou (10 points, 11 rebounds) all made double-doubles in the game against Diamond Valley.
While the Miners started strongly, the Eagles challenged the visitors throughout, taking the lead twice in the second term and levelling scores in the third.
But the Miners took control in the final quarter to ensure victory.
Meanwhile, Ballarat Rush went down to Diamond Valley in its final game of the season, 99-62, on Saturday night.
While Ballarat Skoda Rush was competitive in the first half to be down by a single point at the first break and within nine points at half-time, the Eagles outscored the visitors 48-21 in the second half.
