A showcase of heritage products, designed at the Creswick Mill, will occupy the entire basement of the arcade.
The new Melbourne store will feature history and tourism displays, including a Wool Room and a Weaving Beam, highlighting the Mill’s commitment to Australian manufacturing and design.
Creswick Woollen Mills is also one of the nation’s last remaining coloured woollen spinning mills of its type.
Creswick Woollen Mills executive director Boaz Herszfeld, said his family’s woollen history began in Melbourne.
“Our family was selling rolls of fabric in Flinders Lane in the 1940s. We are so proud to continue the tradition of Australian textiles.
“Australia is well known around the world for the highest quality natural fibres. Visitors to Melbourne crave authentic stories about our living history,” Mr Herszfeld said.
The Creswick story is woven in the fabric of Melbourne and Victoria’s history and it’s an honour to be in such fine company with The Block Arcade’s remarkable retailers.

“Our aim has been to create a space in The Block Arcade that meets these expectations.”
The store, located in the heart of Melbourne’s central business district, will be more than just a shopping experience. It will be an all-encompassing educational experience, much like the Creswick store.
“We are so excited to be opening our eighth store and visitor experience centre in such an iconic Melbourne location.
“The Creswick story is woven in the fabric of Melbourne and Victoria’s history and it’s an honour to be in such fine company with The Block Arcade’s remarkable retailers.
“We cannot wait to showcase our heritage products, homewares and apparel in Melbourne,” Mr Herszfeld said.
The store will be a key part of the Golden Mile heritage walk, in a unique location that is already home to a range of retailers including Haigh’s Chocolates, Basement Discs, Art of Dr. Suess, Camper Shoes and Beechworth Honey. The arcade also features the famous Hopetoun Tearooms.
