The Bombers announced during the week that the former North Ballarat and Ballarat-Redan coach will further bolster its list ahead of its inclusion into the Ballarat Cricket Association first grade next season.
Hind, a top-order batsmen, will bring a wealth of experience to the club. His long-time friendship with coach Liam Brady a key factor in the move.
The 33-year-old said he was excited to be a part of a side creating its own legacy in the first grade and wanted to play a key role in developing a successful culture.
“I thought it might be a good opportunity to help him out and go somewhere fresh and help be a pioneer, help shape a club and start to develop a culture of a whole new team,” Hind said.
“(I’m excited to) help create a culture and one that will have people wanting to come to the club and obviously help the club step-up to the next level.
“I’ll be able to provide him (Brady) with any advice and help him along the way, hopefully we can be successful for the years to come.”
Over his extensive career, Hind spent six years with North Melbourne in the Melbourne Premier League while he has played and coached at North Ballarat and Ballarat-Redan.
He is the latest signing in what has been a busy off-season for Buninyong.
Star all-rounder Liam Rigby topping the list of key recruits while Wendouree premiership player Brady has been a driving force in the recruitment process.
Hind said the amount of star power the Bombers had brought to the club was an appealing factor.
“Everyone is from all different backgrounds, it’s pretty exciting...and we’re coming together for a common purpose – to enjoy our cricket and hopefully win a few games along the way.”
The Ballarat Cricket Association first grade season begins on October 6.
Buninyong set to host Napoleons-Sebastopol in a one-day fixture.
Buninyong’s inclusion as the 10th first grade team will eliminate the bye.
