A 64-year-old woman has died in hospital following a collision on the Midland Highway south of Meredith on Tuesday morning.

The woman is believed to have had a heart attack at the wheel.
Numerous witnesses attempted to help the woman after her vehicle ran off the road just after 8am.
While she was able to be revived at the scene and was transported by road to Geelong hospital, she died later in hospital.
