The 40-year-old man was travelling west when he lost control of his car and rolled it near the corner of Whites Road about 2pm on Friday.
Senior Constable Adam Hendrix said the driver was “very lucky” to survive after the car clipped at least two trees and ended up on its roof in a ditch.
An Ambulance Victoria spokesperson said the man suffered serious injuries to his legs, and a minor facial laceration and was transported to Ballarat Base Hospital in a stable condition.
It comes less than 24 hours after a man escaped unhurt from a similar rollover on Victoria Street, Bakery Hill. That man’s vehicle became airborne after hitting a pole.
