Hepburn Wind generates first power into grid

HEPBURN Wind has fed its first power into the electricity grid this morning, after a six-year project to get the wind farm up and running.It follows the wind company receiving its final certificate of electrical safety yesterday.Hepburn Wind's commissioning teams have started reliability testing for one of its turbines, with the second turbine to be tested this week.In March, Leonards Hill, near Daylesford, became Australia's first town to set up a community-owned renewable energy project, raising its 110-metre wind turbine.The project is expected to generate more power than Daylesford uses annually.
