Magistrate Alsop was hearing summary evidence about new charges against Alan Maddison, 44, of Sebastopol.
Maddison appeared in custody, charged with multiple offences relating to alleged incidents at an Edwards Street home in Sebastopol, between 6 July and 15 July 2018.
The charges include several breaches of a family violence intervention order (IVO), unlawful damage to a property, unlawful assault, persistent contravention of a Family Violence IVO, verbal abuse of a protected person, knowing it would cause apprehension and fear, making threats to kill between 12 July and 14 July 2018, and several charges of committing an indictable offence while on bail.
The court was told Maddison had been in a defacto relationship with the woman and that an IVO, dated 4 May 2017, was in place with orders not to commit family violence against his partner.
The new charges relate to incidents at Sebastopol, including on 14 July 2018 when Maddison is charged with contravening the family violence order by allegedly pushing his partner and urinating on her, verbally abusing her by calling her a “s**t, c**t and a whore” and, on 10 July 2018 allegedly punching a wall in the house and, between 12 and 14 July 2018, allegedly threatening to kill his partner.
“This offending is serious,” Magistrate Alsop said and adjourned all matters, including the CCO breach charges, to Ballarat Magistrates Court on 11 September 2018.
