POLICE have removed a car from the heart of Ballarat which was left abandoned by its driver this morning.

The car, a black Mitsubishi Magna, was left in the centre of the road at the corner of Sturt and Lydiard streets just before 11am.

While the car did not cause many traffic issues, cars were directed around the intersection
The car had scratches down its drivers side with police checking under the bonnet to determine whether the plates matched its make and model.
