The temperature hovered around eight degrees on Saturday before plummeting in the afternoon to three degrees at 2.30pm as rain bands hit and never managed to climb into double figures for the rest of the day.
Some light snow was reported in higher areas including on Mt William in the Grampians where the temperature didn't climb above zero and on the Great Dividing Range at Trentham.
Ballarat at 450 metres appears to have missed out but that doesn’t mean it wont be more of the same for the rest of the weekend.
The Bureau has predicted very high chance of showers on Sunday becoming less likely late in the afternoon and evening with possible hail and temperatures hovering between 7 and 12.
