Beaufort’s slick ball movement eventually wore down a wasteful Gordon in a classic qualifying final on Sunday.
The Crows showed their superiority in the second half to win a fast-paced and ferocious battle at Buninyong by 17 points.
A brilliant performance by Gordon big man Brendan Sutcliffe almost carried the Eagles to victory, but his strong marking, long kicking and four majors couldn’t get the team over the line.
Beaufort capitalised on Gordon’s wasted opportunities to turn a half time deficit into an eight-point lead at the last change.
The Eagles again closed the margin to within a kick mid-way through the last term, but majors from Tom Stapleton and Lachlan Murray sealed the result.
Murray finished with three goals and was a standout alongside onballer Daniel Venditti and backmen Brendan Howard and Damien Day.
Brad Hallam and Zack Ryan also shone down back for Gordon.
