The Central Highlands Football League minor premiers, which lost just one game throughout the home and away rounds, slumped to a fifth-straight finals loss.
Waubra's last triumph in the playoffs came way back in 2014 when it beat Bungaree by three points. Since then, there has been a preliminary final defeat, three successive elimination final losses and also the failure at the weekend.
Buninyong proved far too good for the Roos in Saturday's qualifying final at Learmonth and now has a week off to prepare for a preliminary final.
Waubra, meanwhile, must look to avoid a straight sets exit from finals when it meets Springbank next weekend.
