University students are busy organising the second community health expo at Ballarat Health Services, which will be held in the hospital foyer next Tuesday.
More than 20 health organisations including Uniting Care, Dementia Australia, Ballarat Community Health and Headspace will have information about their services available to hospital staff and visitors.
“A lot of people don’t really know what’s around for them. The hospital is obviously a very big centre for health care but there are other supports as well,” said third year medical student Katherine Alford.
“A lot of us aren’t from Ballarat and we didn’t know what was around, so when we started asking what services were available we decided it would be a great initiative to get involved in.”
The expo will be in the Gardiner-Pittard Building foyer on Drummond Street on August 28 from 10.30am to 3pm.
